Looking forward to this. A way to stay in contact with others while our movement is restricted. #EarlyYears #MuseumHour #Stayintouch #outwardlooking #fourwalls

A big thank you to artists Ian Brownlie and Sophie Bennett for delivering an INSET day on Sensory Engagement earlier this term, and the teachers who attended. We explored going beyond purely visual engagement in galleries and beyond. Photo by Ian.

Pre-pandemic there was a on-going growth in economic inequality and rise in number of children living in poverty. The economic barriers to visiting museums are real, even when museum entry is free. #musemsforall #inworkpoverty Joseph Rowntree Foundation

We worked with Rach Anstey-Sanders in an exhibition of contemp. ceramics by Magdalene Odundo. Handling collection of small ceramics really helped. Also Rach Anstey-Sanders 's ability to find comparisons for young children - she talked of yoghurt pots, plant pots & more #museumhour

Can't wait to welcome student visits back as soon as we can. In the meantime, we've made teacher's packs of looking, drawing and thinking tasks in response to the collection. Three packs: KS1-2, KS3-4 & KS5. Email [email protected] and we'll send one over! #MuseumFromHome
