#softbordercycle was heroically completed on Friday. Cycling done! We cycled to support Friends of the Cancer Centre, & are still £2201 short of £target. One big push required, like cycling up to An Grianan Fort. Donate now, if you planned to, to hit our real target! Customs hut at Muff below

Rounding up the year. #softbordercycle was the highlight of my cycling year. Fantastic fun & great cycling with a well-oiled team, in many ways. Fundraising of close to £26,000 for #friendsccni. Many thanks to the cyclists and their supporters. Keep working the the great cause.

Hi Geoff, #softbordercycle was great fun & different and the concept sparked a lot of interest. On the fundraising front, got a final donation, just £5000.00!!!!!. Brings us close to £31K, brilliant. Thanks for all the efforts of our fundraisers and supporters of Friends of the Cancer Centre.

Home today. Inspired by Rene Vietto. French KOM Tour de France. 1947. After endless antibiotics for a septic big toe he said ā€œTake it off, I’ll be lighter in the mountainsā€. So I’ll be flying up Mountains now that my hemicolon is gone. PS visiting docs give inspiring presents.

Tuesday 4th February was #WorldCancerDay2020 so my surgeon phoned that day to tell me my 5cm ā€˜benign’ polyp actually contained a 3mm Dukes A colon cancer. No further treatment required. #happyhemicolectomy and happy #WorldCancerDay2020. Got a journal in the post today.

150 years today since 7 women stood up and were counted. Without them, and many others, lots of us wouldn’t be doing the jobs we love.
