treblewarfare 1a Joncro Putting property into trust for children is not a "simple" transaction. 99.9% of all people do not set up trusts and 100% of "working people" do not set them up. It does put assets beyond the reach of IHT but we are all accepting that she is a hypocrite anyway.

James Melville 🚜 If IHT is at 100% then won’t all property either be owned by the State, Companies or overseas investors? Individual ownership will be a thing of the past

Deryl Lynn on stranger’s island All new builds will be funded by the government for our priority guests... To be honest, there have been some very Marxist-like ideas floated, like 100% IHT. That would mean we never truly own anything in the eyes of the government...

Sandra Barr CharlotteEmmaUK 💫 Fake news gran 🌻 There’s no plan for a 100% inheritance tax. The gov is looking at capping relief on farm/business assets (£1m fully exempt, then 50% relief above that = ~20% tax). Ordinary estates, homes & gifts still follow the usual IHT rules – not a full asset grab

Al-Intellius Concerned Citizen Not declaring gifts risks HMRC audits, penalties (up to 100% of tax for deliberate errors), and interest if discovered. Estates must report lifetime gifts on IHT returns. Rules may tighten with 2025 caps—consult a tax advisor for compliance.

Steve Perez Please use your platform to shout about how the biz is valued for IHT ie as a commercial sale. This is the issue which effectively takes 100% of balance sheet. Even many biz owners don’t realise this & think it’s a straight 20% of co which would hit cash flow but be survivable

Moving Home with Charlie I warned before 24 GE Resolution Foundation member turned The Labour Party PPC let slip plan to revive Labour's 2015 100%IHT Policy. Bell's move to No11 will be catalyst. Nudges from The Guardian & others have laid ground whipping support from GenZ who'd benefit from Boomer/GenX legacies

daveisagenericname Shep73 Sam Brook Do you really not see the constant attacks by the left to tax the wealthy? How about 100% IHT? That is hating the wealthy, that is propaganda, aimed at gullible socialists. The government is massively bloated and the country is on its knees. Yet all we need is more money.

Matthew Syed 💯 L Goodall says 100% IHT is right as leaving yr kids money is privilege. My dad a WW2 soldier & my mum bought their house to help us. My husband grafted as a builder to put our kids thru uni & buy a home. Women in our families worked, no nannies. Then give it all to the gov? No
