The Spectator Has anyone considered that letting UK citizens use e-Gates is in the EUโ€™s interest? Passport control staff are expensive, slow and will make errors. UK citizens clogging up airports is not good for them. Have we negotiated hard for something that was cheap for them to give away?

Keir Wrong Un to be frank, it's a nothing burger. Swapping fishing rights to sea which doesn't have fish in exchange for e-gates in airports who already have them. Media in meanwhile goes bezerk and hysterical, ranging from game changer to a surrender ๐Ÿคฃ

#YooKay media noise is always inversely proportional to substance. #UKEUSummit produces nothing burger, swapping fishing rights for sea which doesn't have fish to non existent UK exports while opening door to EU youth who don't want to go to UK, e-gates to airports who have them

UK Prime Minister If your beloved EU hadn't been so vindictive, the e-gates was a courtesy they could have reciprocated anyway, yet you sell out our fishermen for it.

Matthew Erm, we do care about democracy thanks. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ And loads of places already allow Brits to use e-gates, neither has this deal promised any change, so you've fallen for a load of guff. Oops!

Pathetic. What difference is a queue, theyโ€™re as long as each other! The eu nations are chasing tourists away so whoโ€™s benefitting from this nonsense? UK on verge of deal with EU to let Britons use European passport e-gates - The Guardian apple.news/AVrz_BRNVR5qWUโ€ฆ

Charles Forsyth (@charles_forsyth) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Christopher Snowdon we can already use the e-gates. I haven't used anything else since Brexit. obviously lucky my airports already deploy them but it's obvious that for cost reasons the EU would do that for all non-EU people eventually.

Mikey Smith I've never had any problems going abroad and standing in a queue for all of 10-15 mins. E-gates are not a big deal and certainly not worth what we've had to concede.
