I'm thrilled to announce 3 fully funded PhD opportunities in Climate Change and Health 🥳 You'll be doing novel research with experts from Cabot Institute for the Environment🏳️🌈✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽 and Elizabeth Blackwell Institute University of Bristol All info can be found here: bristol.ac.uk/cabot/postgrad… Brief project info in this 🧵.

Great to see works of developing data science by colleagues across campus at #BristolDataWeek Jean Golding Institute. Two spatial data science projects from @GeogBristol were presented! Emmanouil Tranos on creating economic data from Web and Sebastian Steinig on a vis. tool for climate change.

40++ °C heat is sweeping across Europe 🥵. Temperature alone affects our health, but combined with high humidity and low winds it can be more detrimental to us in some places. Our new paper is out! doi.org/10.1002/joc.81… Ana Vicedo Dann Mitchell Antonio Gasparrini (🧵1/2)

Confused by the complexity of chaos, randomness, & extremes that we so often discuss in the context of weather and climate? I am really proud of this explainer that we have developed over the last 6 months- ft @emily_vosper Cabot Institute for the Environment🏳️🌈✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽 Met Office Science youtube.com/watch?v=5fRhas…

📢Job alert! Are you interested in palaeoclimate over geological timescales? If so, we have an open post-doc Oxford Earth Sciences on Natural Environment Research Council project, with me Dan Lunt Sebastian Steinig & others Bridge_Bristol Please RT! Deadline Feb 20th. tinyurl.com/3n8kp9c6

Myself, LazyAcademic & Sebastian Steinig have a look at what such a world would look like. We also have a bit of a deep dive into the subject on CBC News with Darius Mahdavi for a fun discussion on this. youtube.com/watch?v=YplIYE…

20yrs ago Valdes moved to Bristol and our climate/biochemistry group (BRIDGE) was born. We celebrated our anniversary by bringing back many of our alumni. I love co-leading the group with Fanny Monteiro - life is a lot of fun when you have such friendly and exciting colleagues❤️

Learned about this very cool website at the #ACCESSCommunity24 workshop today by Sebastian Steinig where you can explore 500 million years of climate data. So much fun to discover different types of worlds.
