Here at Los Altos Softball Complex for Day 2 of the 3A softball state tourney. The morning consolation round saw West Las Vegas beat St. Michael’s 9-3, while LV Robertson needed a 3-run HR by Ariana Sanchez for an 8-4 win over SFIS. The two teams play each other immediately

Here at the state track meet, Ann we’ve already had state records. SF High sets the 400 relay mark in 5A with a 41.26. Then Colette Bibeault sets the 4A girls mark in the hurdles with a 14.70.

Valin Wittenberg of SF High sets a new 5A record in the 400 with a time of 47.93 seconds

With that, we say farewell to the prep season. There was a lot of fun, good stories we covered throughout the year. Hopefully, 2025-26 brings more of the same. In the meantime, it’s time for an ice bath and some SLEEP. Wake us in August …

The New Mexican has learned that former Robertson football players Orlando Romero and Marquez Espinoza died in a car crash Tuesday night in Las Vegas. Romero and Espinoza both graduated in May. Romero also was a two-time state champion powerlifter (2024-25).

He’s baaaaaaaack Highlands has agreed to terms with Steve Jones as its next baseball coach. Jonesey is the winningest coach in Highlands history, having spent the last 10 years coaching at Texas A&M-Texarkana and LSU Shreveport.
