Amusing spot in the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society Museum minutes today: a cameo of Homer, described as a ‘cameo in pasta’ (presumably ‘paste’ rather than fusilli). Still funny though. SGS MB1, f. 93r, 13 Jan 1725/6.

A sighting of #AuroraBorealis at Alwalton (near Peterborough) in 1742 is recorded in the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society Museum minutes: 'Several dusky streams of light began to move quick & waving from west to east & chang'd instantly into bright colours strong & cleare, red, crimson, yellow & blue.'
