Good to see the UK doing something about illegal settler outposts. But it needs so much more and much higher up the chain of command. Even today settlers put a caravan on the Kisiya’s stolen land in the Makhrour Valley. This is an outpost and they just carry on regardless.

Today is the 200th day that Layan Nassar has been in administrative detention. Initial period of four months was extended by another four. Still no charges, no trial, no visits from family or pastor. We have recently heard, thank God, that she is in good spirits and good health.

It was special to help with the olive harvest at Emmanuel Convent in Bethlehem. Throughout the West Bank communities will be doing the same. We were safe from harm but many communities are not because of settler violence. Many incidents already recorded. But olives bring joy.

People suffering under the ongoing Israeli siege in North Gaza are rapidly exhausting all available means for their survival. Civilians must be protected & must be able to receive humanitarian assistance. That's what international humanitarian law requires.

As always, a visit to Layan Nassar’s family in Birzeit is both heartbreaking and inspiring. It was a pleasure to introduce Martin Gainsborough and Rev Peter to Lulu, Sami and Basil. There’s no further news on Layan’s release but advocacy must continue because we will never relent.

The world should be shocked and deeply ashamed at what it has allowed to occur. When will it ever end?

Israel’s decision to ban UNWRA from Israel and East Jerusalem ‘will make delivering aid and essential services to Gaza and the West Bank’. Make no mistake, this is precisely the purpose of the law passed this week by the Knesset.

Israel has failed to enable the delivery of essential food and medical supplies to N Gaza despite US warnings of the urgent necessity to do so. No one should be in the least surprised. “The Generals’ Plan” to erase the population there is going according to expectations.

AB Justin fulfilled a long-planned commitment to make a solidarity pilgrimage with Palestinian Christians. Despite what’s happening in the CofE (and it’s a lot) his time here was immensely important and much appreciated. Much was said, challenges have been made and received.
