Twice in the last 4 yrs the T has canceled a construction procurement when the bids came in much higher than expected. One was last month for the construction of a new Quincy bus garage, which is the key to begin electrifying the T’s bus fleet.

The other was a fiber optic contract last year. The fiber optic contract was scaled back and rebid, and is scheduled to be awarded in October, a year’s delay. commonwealthmagazine.org/transportation…

This came out too late for WTR, but it is a major update: the new price tag for the rebuild of White Stadium makes it more expensive than Worcester Red Sox's Polar Park. Polar Park came with an economic development plan & a DIF, both of White Stadium lacks. #bospoli #mapoli
