Discipline is part of our assignment from God. It’s not optional; it’s a necessary requirement. It’s an important variable in the equation.

God is interested in our relationship. Not just the relationship we have with him, but also the relationship we have with others.

Temptation doesn't stop just because we decide to obey God. So our best course of action is to adjust our expectations and stay ready to choose God over and over again.

If you have a relationship with Jesus, then the power of sin has been broken in your life. It's not controlling you friend, but it will, if you keep entertaining it. Remember, we get to choose whether or not we stay free or become slaves to sin all over again.

This dawned on me this morning: The first real step of surrender is acknowledging that whatever it is that you need to give up, is still in your possession. It's impossible to challenge/change what you refuse to acknowledge. #writespeakinspire

Exercising my imagination is as important to the quality of my life as exercising my body. I must do both to be my best.

I haven't listened to a whole worship album in a while. It's like pouring fresh water on a dry plant. I'm coming back to life.

I've been single longer than some people have been married, and yet they still feel qualified to give me advice on being single. In most cases the advice is outdated and irrelevant.

If you're married, the best thing you can do for your single friends is to help them enjoy the relationship they currently have with God instead of always trying to prepare them for a relationship that may never come.

Being human is hard even when you do have a relationship with God. We’re always in some kind of process. The benefit of having a relationship with God is that you don’t have to be in the process alone.

When you take God out of the box in your life, remember to destroy the box. So you’re never tempted to put Him back in it again.
