What a great story!!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿš˜ In 1966, 22-year-old Kathleen bought a VW Beetle she named โ€œAnnie.โ€ 57 years and 400k miles later, Kathleen (now 78) still drives her to work every day. When VW heard her story, they fully restored Annie for free. When Kathleen saw her again, she

The BBC is a HUGE asset to the UK. Yes, it would benefit from more viewpoint diversity (like every other cultural institution) but I utterly disagree with those who wish to destroy it. Remember the words of the great Joni Mitchell: โ€œYou Don't Know What You Got Till It's Goneโ€

Sweden's new edible road salt is saving birds from deadly dehydration. Made with beet extract and maize starch, it melts ice safely while feeding wildlife instead of poisoning them during brutal winters. Beyond animal welfare, the eco-salt leaves fewer chemical residues in

Remember when the BBC reported scientific findings that trees were losing their ability after tens of thousands of years to soak up carbonโ€”& loonies on twitter were outraged? Science-denial coated in a hatred for Great British culture/BBCโ€”thank goodness the crazies are a minority

Nigel Farage doesn't understand that Capitalism & "global corporatism", are essentially the same, & that tariffs are interference in the markets. He's embarrassing himselfโ€”yet, somehow, this will play really well with his "patriots" who "hate the left". You're being played

I love Autumn. Or fall, as some of you incorrectly call it. Walking through woodland in Estonia. Did you know that the UK has the least woodland in the whole of Europe?

Competitive market forces capitalism/ commercialisation leads to popular hits. The BBC is not (meant to be) that. It's supposed to be for the niche, the weird, the unpopular, the minorities. What part of that is difficult to understand?

biologicially (@sharon_wisner) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The BBC caters for Welsh language, for obscure classical music lovers, for the latest rappers, new comedy, gays, trans, the Scots, fishermen, bird watchers... It's not commercial. It has hits (The Traitors, Strictly etc) mainly because it dares to go places other can't risk

The BBC Strictly competition has been won by a blind and a deaf person. The US news correspondent is blind. The BBC has always given all sorts a fair crack. When I was growing up there was a children's TV presenter with only one arm! The BBC is fabulous!
