Welcome to SAS week 2023! Proud to be the first author of this paper that mirrors the theme of the first day. aomrc.org.uk/wp-content/upl… It has been a rewarding career with endless opportunities and rewards. The Royal College of Surgeons of England #SASWeek23

How does a good career look like; opportunity for progression, ability to make an impact, be an effective mentor/leader and good work-life balance influencing wellbeing of individuals. The Royal College of Surgeons of England #SASWeek23

Today we start with Day 2 of #SASWeek2023 we celebrate all specialist doctors and their lives. Every specialist and specialty doctor has a story to tell that has a learning for employers and medical workforce leaders. The Royal College of Surgeons of England @SASNI2022 BMA SAS Doctors Dr Joanne Younge

We start the day 3 of #SASWeek2023 with theme of extended roles. There is no role small or big enough for our cohort. It is the small minds and tunnel visions that restrict the extended roles for SAS workforce. The Royal College of Surgeons of England NHS Employers BMA SAS Doctors @SASNI2022 Dr Joanne Younge

Day 4 is here for us to celebrate the SAS advocates and wellbeing of SAS workforce. For me well-being is being able to keep my self respect and humility and able to stand in crowd with a proud head knowing that I do my best at work and at home each day. The Royal College of Surgeons of England @SASNI2022

The final (MERES) day of #SASWeek23 arrives that has a different meaning for all. For me it is to recognise the diversity of SAS workforce that brings its own values and ethos. We need to talk about equity alongside equality. Lots need to be done at workplace. The Royal College of Surgeons of England BMA SAS Doctors
