Thrilled to have my story along with this image of fish brain featured by FocalPlane !🎉 Huge thanks to Vatsala Thirumalai for fostering my joy for neuroscience🧠🐟✨😍 Thank you Aalok Varma for teaching me the ins and outs of microscopy (and all the other cool science stuff)!🔬🐟✨

Congratulations Shivangi Verma! What a beautiful image 😍 Shivangi Verma focalplane.biologists.com/2024/08/30/fea… Shivangi is a PhD student with me National Centre for Biological Sciences and is on her way to earning a doctorate from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research . So proud! 🦚

Where do new organs come from? In paired studies, we explore walking fish with "legs" to learn about the evolution of new traits. Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL), Cell Press, Current Biology -cell.com/current-biolog… -cell.com/current-biolog…

Thanks so much for inviting me Reza! I look forward to presenting our latest work on what happens to sensori motor encoding when synapses are pruned away! This is thesis work of Shivangi Verma who will graduate soon and be looking for post doc positions! National Centre for Biological Sciences

Super excited to start my lab National Centre for Biological Sciences in March 2025! The lab will primarily be powered by chemistry, and we will build chemical tools for biology with a strong focus on fluorescence imaging. We will collaborate widely and are open to any relevant areas of biology.

What a great evening! Thank you TNIE The New Indian Express for these happy memories! National Centre for Biological Sciences Tata Institute of Fundamental Research

Congratulations to all the runners-up: Ramanuj Banerjee, Cayvenne Joseph Carag, Rosanna Parlato, Rachel Perry, Renesa Tarannum, Juliana Naldoni, Molly Kent, Rocío Gutiérrez Fuster, Christopher Lee & Aalok Varma 👏👏👏 #highlycommended #LabStars

The final talk of the session on Neurobiology & Behaviour was by Shivangi Verma from Vatsala Thirumalai's lab National Centre for Biological Sciences on "How synaptic pruning shapes brain function: Insights from zebrafish cerebellum" know more: ncbs.res.in/vtlab/ #NCBS_AnnualTalks2025 (10/n)

There's more to SOS response timing than the LexA repressor. In our preprint from the Anjana Badrinarayanan Anjana Badrinarayanan Lab, we uncover a new regulatory layer that imparts temporal structure to the bacterial SOS response. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Fun work on the regulation of the bacterial SOS response to DNA damage. Led by the fantastic Aditya Kamat!

#PhDone! 🎓 Congratulations Dr Shivangi Verma! 🎊 Shivangi Verma from Prof Vatsala Thirumalai's lab successfully defended her thesis! 🧵👇Check out the thread to learn more about her work on understanding how neuronal networks are sculpted in the cerebellum during development 🧠 (1/5)
