It’s Ray all around spent the afternoon with Wim at Satyajit Ray’s house… Sandip Ray found a letter which Wim wrote to him always amazed how in one life time Satyajit Ray did so much and then we met our “Charulata” Madhabi Mukherjee….

I had to meet Henri Langlois when i come to Paris and thank him for what he did and his influence on P.K.Nair…I love what’s written “The dragon that looks after our treasures” then some of my favourite Francois Truffaut, Rivette and finally we meet Jeanne Moreau in silence…

Amazing to be in Cannes 4th year in a row and this time with two films “Gehenu Lamai” by Sumitra Peries gets screened today and Satyajit Ray’s “Aranyer Din Ratri”on the 19th with Wes Anderson,Sharmila Tagore and Simi Garewal presenting the film…

What an incredible feeling to see restored Sholay with the original ending on the big screen at Piazza Maggiore in Bologna with so many people under the stars as they stayed awake till 1am for me it was my childhood memory come alive 50 years later Sholay is back…Film Heritage Foundation

What better news on Bimal Roy’s 116th birth anniversary “Do Bhigha Zamin”restored in 4K will have it’s world premiere at the Venice film festival…..it was wonderful to collaborate with Criterion and Janus films for the restoration which took three years….
