Does your trail side BUCKLE and kick forward in the downswing, causing you to lose your POSTURE? Here’s one of the most common reasons why ✌️

Who doesn’t like 190 yard carry 7i’s 🔥🔥 My boy Matty W flew in from Ohio to get some work done today. He’s been an online student for a while but wanted to get an in person checkup sorted out. The main thing for us really was to confirm that the feels he’s had has been working

For those of you holding on getting lessons until the season is over: Making swing changes does NOT mean playing worse golf, even in the short term. It simply means playing different golf! You might be required to exert a bit more mental focus to make sure you’re applying the

2 things in golf coaching are true: 1) every single coach on the planet has preferences, whether they choose to admit it or not 2) the best coaches in the world are able to teach *away* from their preferences and still get the best out of their students!

Love where Keith Bennett swing is at right now. Found a good place regarding his hand depth, as well as the club alignment. Some trail wrist extension to prevent the club from tipping across, and the early shallowing here allows him to rotate on top of it. Butter fades 🧈

When you’re on the course, it’s time to play actual golf. Don’t do things you’re incapable of doing on the driving range!

If your body is reacting to a shut clubface at the top of the swing, you need to first understand what the “reaction” is trying to accomplish:

Trying to make a bigger turn in your backswing AND get the hands higher at the top? Here’s why you might have trouble accomplishing both:

Good times working with a college golfer here in Montreal 👌 Tendency when he came to me was primarily pull draws, with a swing direction that was getting too far right. Meaning, his path was not only too far from the inside, but his attack angle was also too shallow. Funny

If you’re struggling with a steep club in the downswing and pulls & slices, I cannot stress enough how important it is to make a bigger turn in your backswing and create lots of width. Outside of the clubface, making a big turn has huge value because it increases your hand

Maybe I’m the only one, but I much prefer to see and analyze swing videos from chest height, and NOT from the height of the hands. Never was a fan of that camera angle personally

A little more turn for Matty W to get his hand path exiting left better through impact. The more you rotate in the downswing, the steeper your pattern gets in transition (hands & club more out), which also means that they will work across your body more through impact. Adding

If you want an accurate representation of your grip strength, analyze it with the shaft & hands in the middle of your stance. It’s amazing to me how many of my online students think their grip is much weaker than it is because of when/how they look at it.

If you’re a right handed golfer struggling with pull draws, transform that miss into a small push/block and it’ll be much easier to commit to rotating better through the shot psychologically to straighten it out!

Have you ever tried to create shaft lean with an open clubface? It’s a recipe for push slices, or shanks off the hosel. It simply doesn’t work. If you want to start compressing it more and hitting it straighter, get control of that clubface. Face is king!
