First chapter of my PhD is out now! ⬇️

A new paper! I draw on PhD fieldwork to argue that critiques of legibility are no longer satisfying when applied to community-based conservation. The sector has moved beyond a politics of legibility towards a politics of visibility, which needs to be critiqued on its own terms.

A new paper led by diogoverissimo.bsky.social evaluated the impact of #mobile game ‘#Kakapo Run’ on players’ knowledge & engagement with conservation of this endangered species. Results demonstrate the potential of such #games for #education & behaviour change. See: bit.ly/4eCK54K

🎮🌍 Can mobile games save endangered species? Our RCT shows that gaming can boost conservation knowledge & support pro-environmental policies as well as better cat management, but not donations.
