On 27th April 1889, a meeting was held at the London Hotel "to consider as to the advisability of establishing a Club for Golfing purposes". 🏌🏻‍♂️ The summer months were usefully employed by the Committee for our Club was formally registered with the R&A on the 16th Oct 1889. ⛳️

The first record of a competition held here is from June 1890, when there were only 6 holes. The Committee had considered part of Muttersmoor as the site but finally decided that "the hollow between Muttersmoor and Bulverton Hill" should be prepared as a 6-hole Golf Links. ⛳️

ℂ𝕠𝕦𝕣𝕤𝕖 𝔾𝕦𝕚𝕕𝕖 ⛳️ Probably the most difficult hole on the course. A drive towards the lone tree in the fairway gives the ideal angle… be careful not to finish behind it. The approach will be a long one to a small, sloping green perched close to the trees on the left. 🌳

U12 DevonGolf Junior Championship was a cracker today Bigbury Golf Club. We saw Archie Griffiths from Sidmouth Golf Club take the Gross prize with Leo Chapman from Yelverton Golf Club and Mia Johnstone-Davis from Stover Golf Club take the boys and girls nett prizes (both aged only 9).

I recieved sad news just over a week ago. I will never forget my Grandad (92) who loved gardening and golf Sidmouth Golf Club. 😢😔💔

Unfortunately, due to a number of engineering issues, the Red Arrows will not be able to perform at Sidmouth airshow and therefore will also not be Exeter Airport. We are extremely disappointed and can only apologise to everyone.
