2023 started off great with cover features in both ChemPhysChem and ChemCatChem designed by Kirsten van der Geest ☺️ dx.doi.org/10.1002/cphc.2… and dx.doi.org/10.1002/cctc.2…

Had a great time at the Centre for Pulse EPR Spectroscopy (PEPR) symposium earlier this week learning about the vast range of uses for EPR spectroscopy 🙂 as an added bonus it was lovely to have our work on the characterization of an iron(III) pi-dication be so well received

Great day away from the lab with the groups in building 18 (Remco Havenith, Tibor Kudernac, Robert Pollice and Klein Lab). Including a walk on the seabed at low tide in the Wadden Sea, followed by BBQ on the boat.

The manuscript “Elucidation of the Electrocatalytic Nitrite Reduction Mechanism by Bio-Inspired Copper Complexes” by @Phebe_v_l and Silène Engbers is out in ACS Catalysis. How the mechanism of a simple one electron reaction can still be very complex: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

A Porphyrin Iron(III) pi-Dication Species and its Relevance in Catalyst Design for the Umpolung of Nucleophiles (Johannes E. M. N. Klein and co-workers) Silène Engbers, Alex Guo, Klein Lab, @StratinghInst, CMU Chemistry #openaccess onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an…

Just spent two weeks playing around with the MIMS at the university of southern Denmark 🇩🇰 Thank you to Prof. Frants Lauritsen for all the training, Mathias and Mads for the lovely working atmosphere, and of course Christine McKenzie for making it happen 😊

Congratulations to my talented friend Dr. Liliana Capulín on a successful defense yesterday 🥳 it was an honor to be your paranympth

Had a fantastic time at EuroBIC-17 discussing science with old and new friends ☺️ thank you to the organizers for a great event!

Biomimetic or bioinspired? @Phebe_v_l and I discuss these terms in our viewpoint pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac… just out in Inorganic Chemistry ! Big thank you to Dennis Hetterscheid and Klein Lab for all their input and support
