Today Global Water Partnership Africa Water Investment Programme - AIP #AUSummit High-level side event on climate-resilient water investments in Africa, GCF ED Mafalda Duarte announced Green Climate Fund's Readiness grant of over US$6 million to develop tailor-made AIP water investment programmes for 15 African Union member states.

Green Climate Fund says Africa’s water scarcity crisis demands substantial investment, with current yearly funding levels falling short of the required $30 billion. GCF has committed $3.5 billion to drive resilient water systems in 28 African countries but asks other financiers to join.
