Now is the time to invest in #Zambiaâs mining sector. This was our message today at Mining Indaba. By 2040 an additional 9M mt p.a of #copper will be needed to keep up with global demand & đżđČ is on the right trajectory, as we push towards our target of 3M mt p.a by 2031.

Today Global Water Partnership Africa Water Investment Programme - AIP #AUSummit High-level side event on climate-resilient water investments in Africa, GCF ED Mafalda Duarte announced Green Climate Fund's Readiness grant of over US$6 million to develop tailor-made AIP water investment programmes for 15 African Union member states.

Green Climate Fund says Africaâs water scarcity crisis demands substantial investment, with current yearly funding levels falling short of the required $30 billion. GCF has committed $3.5 billion to drive resilient water systems in 28 African countries but asks other financiers to join.


The European Commission, in collaboration with the European Investment Bank, is elevating the water portfolio. Through blended finance instruments and guarantees, they're boosting private finance for water supply and sanitation across sectors. EU Delegation to AU



Global Water Partnership Executive Secretary Alan Atkisson impressed with the organizationâs achievements. GWP has surpassed the goal of supporting 30+ countries in accessing climate finance within the first two years of its strategic plan. ES pledges to double down on commitment.


The World Bank continues to support efforts to build climate resilience in Africa with its latest support being grants of $340 million to Malawi and $10 million to AUC to address the escalating climate shocks in Eastern and Southern Africa World Bank Water #ClimateAction.
