I’m very specifically looking for a tech with mouse experience for my new lab. The “I’ve touched more than 100 mice in my life kind of experience”. Message me or apply through the link if you’re interested! aprecruit.ucsf.edu/JPF05438

What factors enable CAR-Ts to respond to checkpoint blockade, and can they be engineered to be more sensitive to enhancement? We explore this question in our lab’s first pre-print, led by MSTP student AJ Snyder with great collaborations with Evan Newell and Scott Furlan. 1/

You’ve heard of vibe coding—meet vibe protein design. Click, launch, and watch the binders roll in. That’s what we're unveiling with Ariax Bio today.

I'm a T cell immunologist with zero protein engineering experience, and Ariax Bio is finding me a new miniprotein while I put my toddler to bed. This is the definition of accessible science. Thanks Aaron Ring !

Standing ovation at ⁦ASCO⁩ for the Challenge Trial. Take a look at this comparison of the magnitude of the exercise effect from Challenge versus multiple drug effects.

Well, my achievement for the day so far was besting Wordle Bot. Added about 15 things to my To Do list. Started many, crossed off none. Toddler is (finally) asleep. Time for second-shift.

A new Yale study shows for the first time that immune-system T cells are present in the brain, sent by the gut to a region that regulates hunger and thirst — a finding about T-cell physiology “that changes everything,” says one researcher: bit.ly/4mB9O1Q #Yale

Computational people: do I want a Mac Mini or a Mac Studio for my lab? I don’t run code myself so I’m very much 🤷🏻‍♀️ Both would be 64GB RAM for complex FlowJo analysis - the thing I do. Reddit says the Mini overheats but my team won’t (shouldn’t) be using it for gaming lol.

I’m always so surprised (and also not surprised) by how different CAR T cells are from endogenous T cell responses. In our immunocompetent myeloma model, IFNgR KO in donor cells completely eliminated anti-tumor effects. CAR T cells must have their own sets of rules!

This is a really nice paper. I can’t even be mad that they partially scooped me….because they did it better tbh. Great example of reproducible science at least!! 😅 science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
