Thank you FASEB #BHMSRC for the opportunity to share my work this morning 😊 let's not forget about the contribution of less abundant gut bacteria to infant health and the role they play in HMO utilization

Posing with my graphical abstract at the end of an amazing first day at #ISAPP2023 Denver, CO. I'm amazed by how far the probiotics and prebiotics field has come!

Excellent talk by fellow Canadian Marie-Claire Arrieta on the successful use of probiotics to support development of the preterm infant gut microbiota as well as potential for long-term improved health outcomes!

I was reading this new review about human milk oligosaccharide (HMO) utilization strategies by various gut bacteria (including bifidobacteria) and noticed some errors on which I want to comment, mainly because they persist in the literature (1/7) academic.oup.com/femsre/article…

Had an amazing time at the 4th meeting of the GHMRC. Big gaps in breastfeeding knowledge, esp for small vulnerable newborns, but we're tackling them. Grateful for brilliant minds leading this effort and for the generous support of the FLRF, making this important work possible!

Morning coffee in the quiet stillness of a #Yanomami village was unforgettable. Those peaceful moments grounded me before each day of fieldwork. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been part of this journey, learning from and working with such a remarkable people.
