The next time you hear Oge Obasi is hosting a masterclass attend. You will thank me later; especially if you are a budding filmmaker in Nigeria. Yesterday was transformational. Thank you Oge and CJ.

We don’t make art house films, they are independent films. It’s made by collaboration but there’s an independent voice, an auteur(s) vision that drives it. Some indie filmmakers sometimes make Art house films. But they are not always mutually inclusive. - XVI

History is your friend — seek it, learn from it, and honor it. 💜🩅 As we remember Biafra Heroes Day, may we reflect not only on the pain but also the spirit of peace and pray this doesn’t happen again. #BiafraFallenHeroes #BiafraHeroesDay #Ozoemana youtu.be/zOTjz3hR9QQ?si

The 30th of May marks Biafran Memorial Day. The sacrifice of our forefathers remains a symbol of strength, pride, and remembrance. Echefula = Never Forget #Biafra #Igbo #Nigeria

I have been trying to see Red Circle since it came out and have heard every excuse under the sun. I am beyond upset. The last time I spoke about stuff like this, y’all called me a mad man.

We need so many things in this industry, true but we also need empathy for folks who do the work. Maybe empathy will do the work since y’all are somehow against making money,

I've been doing some reading, and the number of early African filmmakers - Mohamed Camara, Souleymane Cissé, Ousmane SembÚne and co - who were arrested, banned, blacklisted, or denied funding is staggering. The resistance they faced just to tell their stories is unreal.
