It is a great honour to be given the responsability to undertake the position of Head of Dengue Global Programme at Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative from Neelika Malavige. We support World Health Organization (WHO)'s global strategic plan to tackle #dengue. There is still no specific treatment for dengue, so we agree that investigating potential therapeutic approaches to reduce disease severity and prevent complications - a key point in the plan - is crucial.

Happy to share our paper on viral loads as a predictor of clinical disease severity in #dengue. Viral loads did not appear to associate with subsequent disease outcomes, irrespective of the disease classification used.
