Today was a good day for the E10. The #UNSC adopted a resolution drafted by the 10 elected members demanding an immediate #ceasefire for the month of Ramadan.

Today Security Council Report Executive Director Karin Landgren briefed the Friends of Security Council Report on the state of #UNSC and our planned activities for this year. Security Council Report is grateful for all those that support us in our mission.

Tomorrow (8 April), #UNSC members will hold closed consultations, followed by an open meeting, to discuss the #Palestinian request for renewed consideration of its 23 September 2011 application for #UN membership. 📖Read more: bit.ly/3VRWP0S

At the United Nations Headquarters, Minister Yuriko Backes met with Shamala Kandiah Thompson, the Executive Director of Security Council Report. Minister Backes announced that Luxembourg will provide financial support to an important report by SCR on children in armed conflicts.

#HappeningNow: The latest in a new series of  workshops on "Emerging Practices in New Mission Models: The Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission in Haiti," co-organized with Stimson Center, Security Council Report, and @Swiss_UN

The retreat covered such issues as the mandate of the Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict, the work of the Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism (MRM), the conclusions adopted by the working group, and how the conclusions are used by child protection actors on the ground.
