Chris and Shaun got back last Wednesday from their whirlwind trip to Port Alberni, where they offloaded, hauled, and trucked the sockeye catch of 17 fishermen after the first commercial salmon opening of the season!

Our newest sea vegetable sheets of umami-rich goodness happen to be a delicious, gluten-free substitute for lasagna noodles. Our very own Ravi Maharaj tried out a kelp lasagna recipe from Edible Vancouver, and said it was "pretty great - much lighter than a regular lasagna!

When much of the salmon fishing was shut down at the end of June, Steve Martinelli postponed his salmon trip to instead go and fish lingcod. We jumped at the chance to get Steve's lingcod cheeks and the halibut bycatch too! Coming soon in the Dock😉

The majority of canned tuna on the market has had the oil pressed out of it. Ours, however, contain the tuna loin with all the nutritional value. Moral of the story: 👏never👏drain👏off those beautiful natural oils in your Skipper Otto cans! Just mix them right in, and enjoy!

Last month, Melissa and Joel Collier @wcwildscallops took part in conducting scallop biomass surveys, helping to provide a glimpse into the health of scallop beds. We think it's pretty cool to work with fishers who are so engaged in helping manage the fishery they take part in!💫
