2/ It seems United Nations is conflating the right to protest & racial equality w/ political partisanship. This is a grotesque & dangerous distortion. If you take the approach to its logical end, any human rights issue could be off limits because it annoys states or their politicians.

3/ Human rights are supposed to be a pillar of the United Nations system. They should not be considered an out-of-bounds “political” issue for staff. The UN should embrace staff using their free time to #StandUpForRights. Retweet if you support ending the ban on United Nations staff protests.
