WIP Wednesday finishing up the prototype Oblivion armor templates so I can start the final build.

Spent some time painting up this awesome mini from Bombshell Minis She is Quarantasetti the 47th Martyr part of a Kickstarter that is coming out soon. Prefect proxy models for Trench Crusade or other skirmish style games.

Added some Functional HD-Foam straps to my Oblivion armor. These are made out of 4mm HD-Foam and reinforced with nylon webbing. You can paint them any way you want and no need to worry about dye lots or different colored hides.

Oblivion Cosplay Armor - I’ve been working on the style and shape of the pauldrons. These were a bit tricky because I had to not only think about the functionality but how they would attach. Obviously they weren’t able to just float on the model or clip in like the game.

Oblivion Armor Texture Time!! I spent the morning adding a ton of awesome textures to the HD-Foam surface to replicate a worn and weathered metal. This will be perfect for the subsequent layers of acrylics to mimic hand forged rusty metal. Full tutorial in the works.

Oblivion Armor - I applied a dusting of metallic rattle cans to the armor this morning. For this build I went with Rustoleum soft iron and antique nickel. This is a general base color before I start hand painting using acrylics

Oblivion Legion Armor - Started adding a couple of washes to the surface as well as some hand painted highlights. Now I can go in and start having more defined dirt/grime buildups in recesses. #cosplay #foamarmor #OblivionRemastered

Legion chest armor from Oblivion! Some additional highlights and rust I’d like to add in a final pass but it’s definitely looking awesome. While staying pretty true to the overall look I’m using some artistic licensing to make it more functional. No clipping in the real world.

Plague Doctor WIP - I’m attending a steampunk con in August and so I wanted to take a step back and work on a plague doctor mask version 2.0 The first mask I made is one of the most popular projects on my channel and I think this will be a good advancement for makers

Plague Doctor Mask - Working on my next build by adding some “leather” textures to the foam with some heat and tinfoil. Once the foam cools these textures will be embossed into the surface and can be locked in by priming the foam with PlastiDip or Flexbond before paint.

My plague doctor mask has been sealed and is ready for paint. I’m going to go for a warm leather / brass look on this version. But I’m excited to see what the rest of you will eventually paint yours once I release the Free foam templates.

Plague Doctor Mask - Again I’m going for more of a traditional steampunk look. So I added some hand painted Liquitex heavy body acrylics and Dirty Down Rust effects to start to bring it to life.
