Wren, a visually impaired #mare from #OR, was shaking with fear in a TX killpen. We looked for a comforting travel companion and there was Elliot, a youngster from #WY. The BLM in both states are wiping out their #wildhorses this year, so we jumped to give these two #sanctuary.

Her #hooves were so long, she tripped over them. A harness was on so long, it became embedded in her skin. She’s been hungry so long her ribs are showing. Blind in 1 eye, this sweet mare was dumped in a kill pen at age 30. The abuse and neglect end now: she’s coming to #skydog.

It ripped my heart out to see 30yo Marjorie Morning Star alone in a kill pen. Her dignity and helplessness in the face of such cruelty. Good food and a hoof trim already have her feeling better, along with kindness, soft voices, love and respect. You are home now, Marge.
