Fifth through eighth graders at a local elementary school waited outside to see the #SlaveRebellionReenactment pass by. Afterwards, the principal wiped her eyes and asked, “Y’all understand what slavery was? What was slavery?”

Today's socks as I prep for today's performance w/Fo on the Flo at Congo Square as part of the Slave Rebellion Re-enactment's Freedom Celebration at 1PM.

On to New Orleans! #slaverebellionreenactment is heading to the New Orleans Jazz Museum (The Old US Mint) for a procession beginning at 3:30. Follow the reenactors to Congo Square for a Freedom Celebration.
