#AnneFrank was born #OnThisDay in 1929. Through the diary she wrote while in hiding from the Nazis, Anne came to symbolize the lost promise—the dreams cut short—of child victims of the Holocaust. What might have become of this girl who was already a gifted writer?

More than 98% of families in this country choose to vaccinate their young children. But now, vaccine policy is being shaped by the small, extreme minority that doesn’t. This decision doesn’t reflect, protect or support families.

Part of your performance review should be based on how often you use “reply to all” for things that did not need to be replied to all

This will devastate academic research Universities, grind new scientific discovery to a halt, and set the US back a generation. How exactly does this help anyone?

True story: I had EQ insurance for years, until one year we were told our policy was being dropped. Short time later, we had an earthquake. Short time after that, policy was reinstated. Next time our policy is dropped, I'm getting the !%@# out of Dodge.

I used to mail one of these out to people who registered for my shareware game back in 1994. Like, in an envelope with a stamp on it.

The Senate is deliberating over the NIH budget this week. But, it's not just the total $$ that's an issue..but that NIH leadership wants to front load multi-year grants and not distribute them over 4/5 years...this will lead to very few NEW grants awarded = shutting down labs.

Grateful to Meg Tirrell and CNN for covering this story. My NIH grant to study hearing loss was abruptly canceled, then restored by a court, but NIH hopes to terminate the grant AGAIN(statnews.com/2025/07/06/hhs…), creating massive uncertainty for my trainees. We're in a golden age

Completely insane decision to walk away from one of the most promising medical technologies, allowing the US to get smoked in this area of biotech by other countries with more foresight.
