New paper out! We show that heart cockles use bundled fiber optic cables to transmit light through "skylights" in their shell for their photosynthetic algae. The skylights filter out harmful UV radiation. These coral analogues are cool critters!! w/ Sonke Johnsen Dionne Group
I am very happy to share that the Missouri Botanical Garden has received funding to digitize their entire herbarium! This work - made possible by an anonymous $14.4 million grant - will image and transcribe all 8 million specimens in the MO herbarium. MO Botanical Garden
