At Heat and Health Research Incubator, Ollie Jay's team is using a state-of-the-art climate chamber to investigate the conditions under which heat threatens life, and the best ways to stay cool and safe. Carissa Wong nature explores heat labs: nature.com/articles/d4158…

Great to share low-cost and sustainable alternatives to air-conditioning with primary school children (aged 7 to 11) from across NSW today! The ice towels were a fan favourite, closely followed by self-dousing! Always a pleasure disseminating the work of Heat and Health Research Incubator.

Great to present alongside Nicole Vargas Jenni Vanos 🌎🇨🇦🇺🇸 and Nicholas Ravanelli today at Arizona State University on all things heat-health related. Also thoroughly enjoyed a workshop on effective public health messaging!

That's a wrap. Fabulous week in Phoenix ASU Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory to share best practices, local challenges, community efforts, & #collaborative research on all things #heat, #health, & #adaptation. Temps were high, goals were set, and fun was had by all. Thanks to HeatReadyPHX + others!

This is a great opportunity to work on an exciting project with an excellent supervisor. If you are interested in sleep quality in hot environments and the impact this can have on infectious disease transmission, get in touch with Yorgi Mavros!

Congratulations to Nethangie Ranhotty for successfully completing your PhD. It was a pleasure supervising you with Yorgi Mavros and great to celebrate at a fantastic Sri Lankan restaurant!

This video is part of the Heat and Health Research Incubator’s contribution to the Powerhouse “50°C: Climate, Heat and Resilience“ initiative. I provide an overview of the issues we face in a warming climate, and the research we are conducting University of Sydney to increase community resilience to heat.

Join Heat and Health Research Incubator: we are recruiting a 5-y research-focussed (potentially renewable) Epidemiologist/Biostatistician. Open to international applicants.
