many have been asking me why economics is not a real discipline. it is not a real discipline because it hasn't properly historicized it's own methods of knowledge production. this was made clear by the economist who hadn't read marx or smith.

a knowledge of the history of one's discipline is a fundamental part of disciplinary knowledge. pple with phds in economics shouldn't read marx or smith to apply them. they should read them to understand the history of economic and social thought on which their discipline depends

people who have been using the em dash long before ai know that it’s the jazz riff of punctuation, the tightrope between intuition and impulse, the trapdoor for digressions—it’s the writing fidget spinner for centrifugal thinkers

idgaf green day doing this on stage in front of thousands of people (live streamed to even more) will always be more important than whether you think they deserve to be on the main stage or not

You can easily live among either people, and some have done so, but in order to become the all knowing / neglected embodiment of wisdom and yearning, the writer pretends that they can’t live in either or both worlds, and turns each group into ideas that can be used in writing.
