My senior graduate student, Tanner Kimberly after his Exit Seminar on his PhD work with his undergraduate advisor Monica Lares and me! Always bittersweet. He is off to Purdue with Christina W. Li where he will continue to do great science!

End of a great Inorganic GRC! Had fun with Alison Altman on the boat and hearing about cool science.

Congrats to Tanner Kimberly! Tanner Kimberly Celebrating his PhD with an end of the year cookout!

Check out my second publication out now in Chemistry of Materials! In this study we investigated the growth mechanism and thermoelectric properties of Bi2Te3 nanoplates with a single nanopore, revealing ultralow lattice thermal conductivity! 🤩👩🏻🔬 pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

What will you do when you retire? UC Davis' Distinguished Prof. Alan Bach worked for Univ California for 56 years! He just retired, but here he is in his UC Davis Department of Chemistry's office, writing 4 papers and preparing to teach a class in the fall! Do you love your job? Alan certainly loved his.

Another great summer of ACS SEED students at UC Davis Department of Chemistry . I am always impressed by these HighSchool students and their graduate student mentors!
