I denounce this xenophobic, self-destructive plan. Chinese students are integral to American science. The opportunity to work with students from China remains one of the joys and most important dimensions of my research. The act of a deteriorating nation.

My grandfather survived Auschwitz, worked his ass off to get a PhD in physics despite 5 years of slave labor w no schooling, and came to the US to build the camera for the Apollo missions. But I guess you don't want ppl like that in our country anymore you ungrateful jackass

Completely nonsensical politicization of scientistics identifying and correcting problems in science. - Gino's research was not "promoting progressive ideas" - The problems were not found by "bloggers," but by leading researchers/faculty in the same scientific discipline.

Hayek isn't arguing that economics isn't a science, though. Just that the methods of economics have to look different than the "natural" sciences. Oren would know this if he... read. But I guess he's just interested in trying to find anything he can to bolster his position?

Delighted that this conversation with Nicolas Lemann on his new book Higher Admissions: The Rise, Decline, and Return of Standardized Testing is now online. Stephen Raudenbush and Lesley Turner join me in commentaries, with Jason Merchant moderating.

Grateful for a wonderful conversation with Deirdre Bloome on topics ranging from long run historical inequalities to the best ways to characterize intergenerational mobility.

In a new Q&A, Prof. Steven Durlauf (Steven N. Durlauf) argues that racial disparities in the U.S. stem from deep structural injusticesβ€”not group-based preferencesβ€”and warns that attacks on DEI policies distort what those policies actually aim to address. har.rs/442p3tq

Very, very pleased to share these conversations with Salvador Navarro (Salvador Navarro) and Stephen Trejo on educational disparities. Overcoming barriers to educational achievement is integral to creating a "meritocracy worth the name."

Important paper on the ways that changes in the distribution of resources across different types of colleges has affected wage inequality.

Embarrassingly slow to repost this pair of great conversations with Salvador Navarro and Stephen Trejo on education and inequality.
