10 years ago today, July 17th 2015, I tested positive for HIV. This single day and event changed my life forever. It changed my outlook of life, my understanding of what it is to be a human being and what privilege means. For me, dealing with and reflecting on "diagnosis day"

What I learned in therapy was I turned all the trauma inward on myself and my negative self image was a function of that and had very little to do with what I actually looked like. I still get in my head but the RSD (rejection sensitivity dysphoria) is a lot better than it was.
