A slightly belated reminder that as the breeding season has begun, to please think carefully before posting the location or photos of breeding birds, particularly Schedule 1 and UK RBBP species. If in doubt, please contact the county recorder (Brian Gibbs) in the first instance.

Well I’m quite pleased with my 1 1/2 hours with the Tealham Moor, American Golden Plover last night. Didn’t expect too much, distance & light were not helpful, but not so bad…..Hope you agree RareBirdAlertUK BirdGuides

Good to see a Curlew calling while circling to land on KSM yesterday. Hope they bred successfully this year. Somerset Birds My photo from here in May 2015.

Amazing sight on the East side of TauntonMinster tonight with all four Juvenile birds together. It has been a wet and windy afternoon in Taunton and probably the first time that this four have experienced such bad weather since fledging about 10 days ago. Somerset Birds

Lesser Emperor seems to have become established on The Somerset Levels, but they've been extremely difficult to photograph. This male at Westhay Moor is one of the very few we've seen perched up.

A top find at an underwatched location (nowadays at least). Hopefully the first of many Nearctic species in the county this autumn!
