I attended this Crewkerne Civic event as guest of the Mayor Cllr Kathy Head. It was a wonderful production of the Nutcracker pantomime with lots of audience participation... oh no there wasn’t…....😁

A wonderful day spent with the Mayor of Yeovil, Cllr Evie Potts-Jones...she showed me some of the many things she’s proud of in her town. Our first stop was Yew Tree Park where we saw the plans to update the existing (well used) skate park to make it even more useable.

This is a great local success story! Screwfix originally started out as a market stall in Yeovil and now has 752 branches nationwide. Today the Yeovil branch is managed by Dale smith (pictured), has 24 staff and has just been named as the best Screwfix store in the country!👏

In response to clear local need, the amazing team at the Yeovil branch of Nationwide have already raised the funds for the town’s first defibrillator (which has already been used) and have now raised almost enough for two more defibrillators in the town.

I met Steve Haigh of Radio Ninesprings in his new studio at the Football Ground, we then met Mark Robinson the commercial director of Yeovil Town FC & heard about the great work they're doing off the pitch too, particularly with inspiring and motivating young people in the community.

A lovely end to a wonderful day out in Yeovil at Sidney Gardens where I met the Chair of the friends of the park with his wife and dog before a visit to Yeovil Golf Club which was thriving and full of players of all ages.

I spent four hours walking Bath city centre to see neighbourhood policing on a busy Saturday night. A tough job and although a visible presence, not a threatening one...Police officers do a tough job for us while we are out enjoying ourselves. Thank you Avon and Somerset Police 🙏

I visited the tremendous Saltford Hall - which is so well run by the Saltford People. Whilst there I was delighted to present a High Sheriff's Award to Jill Williams in recognition of her tireless energy and valuable services to her community over the last 50+ years.

What a great idea! The local council have installed this bicycle repair point at a park in Wincanton. It features a pump, bars to put your bike on while you work and also includes a set of spanners and bike tools - very handy.
