My column for this week’s New World magazine is on Labour’s honesty deficit - on how in not fronting up with voters about the extent of the UK’s long-term structural problems it’s itself up for punishment at the next election.

The discourse about grooming gangs has been grim. There was as much politicisation of this issue by the left as the right - “we know everything we need to know” - when there are obviously massive gaps, not least the number of victims & ethnicity of perpetrators.
