It is with deep regret that Óglaigh na hÉireann can confirm the death of one of our peacekeepers in a serious incident in Lebanon last night. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis. 1/4

Measurable physiological changes due to catecholamine release means we lose fine motor control when on the “X”. Add blood on your gloves, and tear notches can be problematic. Easy fix with duct tape wings on all packaging Have done this on all my kit for many years 👊🏼👊🏼

The National Ambulance Service 🇮🇪🚑 Clinical Directorate consultant team had a great training day with our Incident Response Team. Our IRT are trained/equipped for a variety of specialist incidents- decontamination, high consequence infectious disease, public order and mass casualty events

To follow up on this… what will you do if you find yourself in the hot zone? A provocative question by Mark Forrest and WCRR… What medical equipment will you have? If nothing else, use your hands! 90% of compressible extremity hemorrhage is controlled by direct pressure.

This week our National Ambulance Service College Ireland MSc Advanced Paramedic class managed a large Multiple Casualty #Simulation. This Inter-Agency Training would not have been possible without the help of Garda Info Special Tactics Operational Command, RCSI SIM, and the NAS Incident Response Team.

.Claire Park discussing care in the hot zone TacticalTrauma #TacTrauma24 What actually is a hot zone? Direct threat to life. What prevents entry into a hot zone may simply be calling it a hot zone. Describe the risk rather than the hot zone. Give people option to enter.

The always awesome Nick TacticalTrauma #TacTrauma24 discussing public order medicine. Potential for multiple concurrent MOI. Violence is likely to involve large numbers of people, outnumbering the police. Terror attacks are over in minutes. Disorder may go on for days

One of the many things I enjoyed about the inspirational & thought-provoking TacticalTrauma conference was ZERO time for questions in the programme!! 😳Absolutely not needed with a longer time for breaks & a culture of chatting to speakers after their talk over ☕️. 💯% recommend!!

I was privileged to be invited back to speak at #tactrauma24. Great conference with so many driven and like minded people. The level of experience and presentations was stellar.

Caroline Leech Matt Sztajnkrycer A special mention to Rob Major for his talk on the Greyzone I’ve been lucky to have heard him speak on the topic before and it only gets more interesting, more complicated and more relevant And in a subtle nod to his talk on day one… Be more 🦔 /4
