We found that the Ellen Pao v. Kleiner Perkins gender discrimination lawsuit led to increased hiring of women investors in venture capital. Here is a short summary:

What PDF annotation apps do you use on your iPad? I am trying to print out fewer pages and would like to find an app that can sync my files and scribbles across all devices. Suggestions please!

I was a bit nervous when Freakonomics asked me to talk about my research on diversity and performance. Here is the bottom line: Whether team diversity is good for performance or not depends crucially on how diversity was fostered. freakonomics.com/podcast/discri… via @freakonomics

What bibliography manager do you recommend? I need something that could: 1. Manage multiple folders of PDFs on PC (and Mac). 2. Integration with Latex and Word 3. Being able to search the PDFs. I have used Mendeley before, but the user experience is not good. Any recommendations?

What do you make of the results below? Teams with more women do better when they are taught by female professors - in an MBA business course. Why is that?

After our original flight from Philadelphia to Shanghai got cancelled due to a crew issue, #delta decided to rebook mom and dad with our fifteen month old baby on two separate middle seats for a fifteen hour flight. I guess #delta is very family friendly :(

I am wondering if anyone have suggestions to speed up scipy.optimize.minimize in #Python? My demand estimation is taking too long (given the simplicity of it and I am giving it the exact analytical gradient, I am hoping for better.) Any thoughts?

We (Sophie Calder-Wang, Chiara Farronato, and I) just published a short piece about regulating short-term rentals, which also summarizes our research on the topic. TLDR; bans are bad. Read it here: hbr.org/2024/02/what-d…
