This is more important than any other news. Millions rely on St. Micheal’s ER when on death’s doorstep. A problem at St. Mike’s is a problem for all of us. There is no rational world where ER doc hours in Ontario should be reduced. Make Dr Petrosoniak’s concerns go viral.

Kevin Vallier I think it is short-sighted for faculty to participate in the process of integrating AI into teaching. It is yet more baffling to see humanities faculty advocating the use of LLMs in research and writing—ideally these are spaces for intellectual independence and devotion to craft

Shocking failure to mask in hospitals in the UK. Is this happening in Canada? I hope not, tho at my infusion clinic it's "masks are recommended but since they aren't mandated we aren't bothering." For hospital patients, it's potentially deadly & absolutely unacceptable, anywhere.

Our society relies on science, way more than most realise. And it’s a global endeavor. What’s happening now is profoundly negative, not just to funding, but to institutions, workforce & culture. Other countries must step up to try and fill the void. smh.com.au/healthcare/a-b…

Me too. It is very clear now that viral infections are required co-factors for many chronic diseases - neurological, rheumatological, cardiac, cancers and more. The evidence is cascading out. I don't think there is any justification for being relaxed about repeated infections, no

True, it hits hard when you realize U.S. politicians want to impose the Taliban’s agenda: banning abortion rights & birth control, imposing official prayer & religious dogma in the schools, banning books considered offensive by the state & criminalizing the LGBTQ+ community.

IBD care has reached a therapeutic adolescence: we can switch inflammatory activity off rapidly in many patients, but we cannot keep it off without chronic, costly immunosuppression, nor can we prevent disease in the first place. What do we need to fix? Move from suppression

Charlie Lees Completely agree! Wrote a little bit about how we need to move from AI for molecules/microbiomes/genomes to AI for phenotyping if we’re going to break through x.com/mattzschwartz/…

My strong suspicion is that we will read much more research over the coming years that begins with, 'a common virus once thought harmless to humans'.

Should doctors reject new knowledge, or embrace it? Most doctors still believe the myths around COVID. My presentation gives you the evidence you need to embrace new knowledge and improve patient outcomes.

“What should have been a straightforward vaccination turned into a Kafkaesque runaround—one that portends the chaos to come. The result will be… more transmission, more cases, more long Covid, hospitalizations, and deaths.” My latest for The New Republic: newrepublic.com/article/196742…
