We are very excited about the start of the IRTG 2991 on "Photoluminescence in Supramolecular Matrices", funded by the DFG. The scientists Universität Würzburg #UniWürzburg have the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram IISER Thiruvananthapuram at their side as a partner institution. 🇮🇳🇩🇪

A proud moment for the group Sanchita Sengupta as Dr.s Sushil Sharma and Narendra Tripathi received their PhD degrees at the 13th convocation at IISER Mohali on June 19, 2024. 💐🎉 The very best wishes to both Sushil and Narendra for their future endeavours!

Special issue of Photochem. Photobiol. devoted to photosciences in India edited by Dr. Sugumar Venkataramani and Dr. Alexander Greer is now online. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/toc/17511097/2… Also contributed by POC Lab IISER Mohali Arijit K De N Sathyamurthy Sanchita Sengupta S. Prof. Frank Würthner from Universität Würzburg #UniWürzburg, (former institution of Emil Fischer) gave a remarkable talk on functional dyes, self-assembly of π-conjugated molecules and the photoluminescence of supramolecular systems. He is also the PhD advisor of my Prof. Sanchita Sengupta.

Prof. Frank Würthner Würthner Group from Universität Würzburg #UniWürzburg, a Jubilee Chair Professor from the Indian Academy of Sciences, delivered a fascinating talk on Supramolecular Engineering of Functional Nanosystems hosted by Department of Chemical Sciences IISER Mohali IISER Mohali

Prof. Würthner gave an exciting lecture on the theory of Exciton Coupling dedicated to UG students. He discussed about Davydov’s Molecular Exciton Model , type of dye aggregates (J and H) and the landmark 1963 paper of Michael Kasha . Sanchita Sengupta Würthner Group

Today Prof. Wuerthner Würthner Group gave an engaging guest lecture in our photochemistry course on excitonic coupling theory, H-/J-aggregation and the thermodynamic aspects of dye self assembly. Also visited the labs and had insightful interactions with the DCS faculties.

Last week we had n enriching experience hosting Prof. Würthner Würthner Group at IISER Mohali, with his fascinating lecture on supramolecular engineering of nanosystems, fantastic photochemistry guest lectures, lab visits, interaction with students &colleagues Department of Chemical Sciences IISER Mohali

Department of Chemical Sciences IISER Mohali and CRSI Chandigarh local chapter are organising a one-day workshop on the theme 'Special Topics in Chemistry' on March 10, 2025 (Monday) IISER Mohali to motivate BSc/MSc students majoring in chemistry to pursue research as a career option.

Thanks to an initiative from colleagues in the Department of Chemical Sciences, we welcomed 100 college students from nearby regions for an exciting one day workshop 'Special Topics in Chemistry'. S. S. V. Ramasastry Sanchita Sengupta R Vijaya Anand POC Lab IISER Mohali Jino George (IISER Mohali)

Thank you Supratim Supratim Datta and the entire class, The present batch showed good involvement and inquisitiveness and their fruitful interactions with me throughout the course made it very gratifying to teach the course this time.

Happy to share an important contribution on photocatalytic H2 evolution through D-A &g-C3N4 composite, in ACS Materials Letters, thanks Anusandhan National Research Foundation MoE-STARS Department of Chemical Sciences IISER Mohali great collaboration with Dr. Ujjal K.
