🏗️Today, in #TaIsland Chuuk, community workers are hard at work wrapping up construction activities on a warehouse, school & health dispensary supported by USAID, IOM & FSMGov. These sturdy structures will help withstand natural hazards like cyclones common to the North Pacific.

#MortlocksHighSchool in #SatawanIsland, Chuuk, was among those affected by typhoon. Our site engineers visited renovated school facilities & 3 water tanks installed to provide clean water access thanks to USAID, IOM, & FSM Gov joint effort to build resilience in remote areas.

FSM declares #DroughtStateofEmergency. Thanks to USAID support & partnership with FSM Gov, IOM has shipped vital supplies (#WASH, dignity kits ++) to our Chuuk warehouse to assist drought relief efforts in remote outer islands. IOM remains committed to preparedness & response!

Successful training session with 🇲🇭Disaster Mgmt. Office, supported by USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance! IOM is empowering #NDMO to engage atoll communities & assess #LocalCapacity to withstand hazards. These consultations will guide IOM’s efforts in 6 atolls. 🙏NDMO for ongoing collaboration!

🚑1st handover of RMI’s infectious disease border mgmt program was a success! Thanks to support from The Gov't of Japan, IOM delivered an ambulance to Ministry of Health & Human Services. With only 2 working ambulances, this addition is vital for saving lives & strengthening resilience.

Communities continue to struggle with water scarcity & crop loss in Micronesia. We deployed water jerry cans & #ReverseOsmosis units, filtering 360 L of seawater daily, to remote islands in Yap🇫🇲. Grateful to U.S. Coast Guard for delivering assistance & USAID for ongoing support.

In emergencies, efficient info management is crucial for effective assistance. Recently, we held a fruitful workshop to enhance #DataManagement, including mapping and digitalization. Thanks to all participants for insights toward a resilient future in FSM🇫🇲. 🙏USAID #SDG17

✨ Celebrating Resilience in 🇫🇲✨ We are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the #TyphoonWutipReconstructionProject in Chuuk! This program helped communities in Chuuk, Pohnpei and Yap States build back better following the devastating impacts of #TyphoonWutip (1/3)

Key Highlights: 🏡 constructed 135 new homes and renovated 34 public infrastructures 📦 Supported outer island houses with minor damages via an innovative voucher system 🤝 Collaborated with community to deliver activities and transfer skills. (2/3)
