📢Exciting times Previvorship 🥳! We are about to start interviews with people who share information about #brca or #lynchsyndrome on X, Instagram or TikTok! We want to understand how people choose what to share, and how to share it 👇 sites.google.com/sheffield.ac.u…

An exciting phase of Previvorship and one where we are learning so much about social media in relation to advocacy, survivorship, previvorship, patienthood and expertise...

Only six days left to get in touch with Caitjan Gainty and me about our Routledge Handbook for the History of Modern Medicine docs.google.com/forms/d/1INDuT… #histmed #twitterstorians

Currently interviewing but there is a lot more going on behind the scene of Previvorship👇

📢📢We presented at BSA Medsoc AKA @[email protected]! 🎙️We are exploring how images shared on social media may influence how we understand #BRCA and #LynchSyndrome #hereditarycancer. Get in touch if you want to know more, we have a paper in the making... (Pic by super kind Natalie Tyldesley-Marshall (She/Her/Hers)).

We studied posts from Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and found that popular images of #BRCA #hereditarycancer tend to reinforce racialised and gendered views of the condition. The paper is open access in Sociology of Health and Illness Journal, with cool dataviz by Yuning Chuang 👇onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/14…
