On Monday, June 9th, MONSE, along with @hopkinsmedicine, University of Maryland Medical Center, LifeBridge Health, and our community partners, will be holding a public health resource fair in honor of Gun Violence Prevention Month.

Grateful to join Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office, Baltimore Police, African American Engagement Baltimore, @markconway4th & Catalytic Impact and Change for the Solutions Pact town hall discussing how we’re showing love to Baltimore’s youth while holding them accountable.

Through May, Baltimore has recorded 54 homicides, the fewest through the first 5 months of a year on record. The previous low: 65 homicides, in 1977. At this point in 2022, just three years ago, there had been 138 killings, and in 2017 there had been 146 people killed.

Antisemitic violence has no place in our city or anywhere. What has happened in Colorado is unacceptable and a heartbreaking reminder of the work we must continue to do to confront hate in all its forms. Baltimore stands with all of our Jewish neighbors.

At @mayorbmscott's direction, MONSE has activated a Coordinated Neighborhood Stabilization Response following the fatal police-involved shooting at Penn/Laurens on Tuesday. We’re out listening to residents, assessing needs, and providing trauma healing support to the community.

Baltimore ended the first half of 2022 with 179 homicides, the worst first half of a year on record (since 1970). Baltimore just ended the first half of 2025 with 68 homicides, which is the fewest on record. That’s a 62 percent drop from 2022-2025

As of this morning, homicides are down 27.7% and nonfatal shootings are down 19.6% compared to this time last year. Our continued progress is the direct result of the comprehensive, evidence-based public safety strategy that we have implemented in partnership with residents.

Today, #TeamMONSE, @safestreetsbaltimore, and community partners came together to throw a special field day event and resource fair for the Brooklyn community including community supports, free food, and fun and games for the entire family.

This week, #teamMONSE connected with the residents on Mosher Street on three different occasions to engage with residents and connect them to vital resources.
