My first author paper from my thesis work has been uploaded to BioRxiv! We identified Mecr as important for T cell fitness in in vivo CRISPR screens. I have further worked with Mecr and am the first to show it regulates T cell function and metabolism. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Check out the latest drop from the Jeff Rathmell lab by the extraordinary Darren Heintzman! This project was intellectually stimulating for all in the lab and fun to be a part of. See how temperature impacts T cell metabolism! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… 🌡️🔥

Big congratulations to KayLee Steiner, PhD for her PhD defense! As always, KayLee goes big--tackling a poorly understood metabolic pathway in T cells (mtFAS) and with a huge bottle to celebrate after.

It is great when science can have direct impacts to patients and make connections and collaborate. I hope we can all find ways to relate our science to patients and improve outcomes more!
