Before they became dominated by cars, American streets were shared by people walking, biking, taking transit, *and* driving. Decades of car-centric planning has perpetuated infrastructure debt, created deadly streets, and turned prosperous places into unproductive parking lots.

Help us and Stellenbosch Fietsry say no to option 01! Parking in the centre of the CBD will drive up congestion, kill the local economy. Instead, we need to have a park and ride on the CBD outskirt as per Stellenbosch Municipality LSDF, MSDF and CITP policy. change.org/p/say-no-to-mo…

Bikelash, what bikelash? 50 % of people in #Edinburgh want to see more public money spent on cycling. Almost 50% want to cycle more themselves. smartcitiesworld.net/micromobility/…

Urban drive-throughs suck. They "worsen traffic congestion and release climate-warming air pollution from cars idling in line. They force cities to devote more land to asphalt ... and increase the chances of collisions with pedestrians and cyclists." vox.com/the-highlight/…

I'm a left-wing Jew. I've never been to Israel. I've abhorred Netanyahu for years. I've always wanted peace to prevail. And here's how 7/10, yhe war, and the way "peace protestors" have changed the way I see things permanently.... (1)

Take note, #Chicago is doing something right, and should keep going even further and faster! Bicycling grew more in Chicago than in any other major American city in the last five years. buff.ly/3WMTkcv

It’s World Bicycle Day! 🚵‍♀️ Cycling is great for your health – and it's a clean, cheap way to get around. Labour will support local authorities to provide the safe, accessible cycling infrastructure that is right for their areas – so that everyone who wants to cycle can.

Stuart Cllr Damian Haywood 💙 TVP Roads Policing Matthew Barber @CCJasonHogg Umm, so even without lights and bright clothing you did see them, that's what you're saying, so proving it's not what a cyclist is wearing that's the problem it's drivers not paying attention. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

In Cape Town it seems we build bad bicycle infrastrukture, few use as a result. We then use the low usage numbers as a reason not invest into more.

Listen to Wheels for Wellbeing please TfL, NHS. If you are considering banning e-bikes from properties you'll hamper disabled people's ability to move. Poor quality kit will be better regulated soon, so don't knee-jerk on a next to 0 risk on reputable goods cyclingelectric.com/news/disabilit…

Say no to a parkade in the centre of Stellenbosch! It’s not sustainable nor forward thinking and will worsen congestion for years to come🚫 Send an email to the muni: docs.google.com/document/d/1i-… Sign the media statement: docs.google.com/document/d/1oq… Send it before council sits tomorrow!

We have a better solution: park-and-ride facilities on the outskirts of town, combined with investments in NMT or even a congestion relief charged like City of London. This aligns with Stellenbosch’s goals of sustainability and reduced car dependency.
