What's going on in your garden at the moment? We've scented Rosa 'Munsted Wood' , Alliums & even made Scotch eggs with my hens eggs. What's your residents favourite thing in the garden? What do they love doing outside?

You can't beat growing, and eating, summer strawberries. What do your residents love to grow, and eat? What does summer strawberries remind you of? Why not try a few strawberry plants? #carehomes #gardens #dementia

Nonna, Jean & Morag took a stroll to the coffee cart today and looked out for #nature on the way. Nonna was delighted to find some 'sticky willies' aka cleavers, which reminded her of sticking them on people's back 🤣. #30DaysWild

There's not a better signal it's summer than lovely #Strawberries. Wimbledon is near, sunny days in the #garden abound. What are your residents recollection of summer? Connecting to the seasons can help orientate people with #dementia as to what to wear & things to do.

Last week we filmed residents enjoying the garden at the Rowan Lodge, #ForestCare, and today we're at Langham house #carehome, Huntington and Langham Estate where we did a #gardendesign to their extended home some years ago. Next week Mark Rendell is visiting to capture him too. Such fun.

...& for this weeks filming Mark Rendell is visiting. He's my fellow #gardendesigner, #researcher & #author with whom we asked the question 'why aren't #carehome #gardens more actively used, even when designed to the latest guidance?' that led to our findings & Step Change Design

Stepping into the garden is easy when the sun is shining but how often does this happen once summer is over? Now is the time to learn what it takes to keep the doors open for residents & embed any changes needed. Our books & tools support this, get your copy via our website.
