It’s true. Teen love is very much real. I have two coming of age verse novels on sub (Upper MG & Lower YA) that focus on this. Tweens/Teens want more romance in books without being too spicy. Editors- Please reach out with interest.

I grew up with The Cosby Show. My 18 year old daughter watches The Resident. We are both shocked and saddened today. His talent crossed generations. #RIP

Just 50 year old me who is researching various kid lit writing classes, reading picture book mentor texts, and who just registered for the Girl Power Hour conference coming this Fall. Not giving up. Will do what it takes to work hard and make my stories the best they can be.

I’ve had a lot of crappy stuff happen to me in my youth & I know I’ve made mistakes dealing with it. I write to heal from that trauma. Poetry/Verse especially helps give those feelings a place to go. I want tweens/teens to know their experiences are valid and they’re not alone.

I know Summer is super slow in the Publishing world and Fridays are often a day off for everyone, but I could really go for some news . . . good news to be specific! Happy Friday to all. May your dreams come true today.

feeling embarrassed by your past self is actually a good thing bc it shows that you’ve evolved to know/do better than younger you would have done. Reframe that feeling of embarrassment as pride in your growth as a person, and give your past self empathy for not being there yet 🫶🏻

I am a writer who hasn’t really written anything new in a while. Feel guilty. I just can’t find my groove. Any tips?

Hi Editors who may be online - I have 2 SEL picture books on sub & 1 lyrical info fiction about seagulls at the beach. Also have an Italian culture PB that focuses on food, family, & faith. Finally, have a Lower YA & Upper MG in Verse that is Contemporary coming of age.
